For VisitorsShould you be visiting the group, here is some information that may be of help upon arrival. All seminars organized by members of the CAMGSD research center are announced in here. A list of all seminars held at the Department of Mathematics may be found here. Other interesting seminars are organized at the Department of Physics by the research centers CENTRA and CFTP. The center is located in the Department of Mathematics of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon (see the map). The hotel we usually work with, AS Lisboa, is at metro station Alameda and within walking distance to the institute (just walk uphill to IST). The campus of Instituto Superior Tecnico is easily reachable by subway from the airport (it's a 16 minutes ride): take the red subway line and exit at Saldanha to Av. Duque de Ávila, or exit at Alameda and go up the hill (see the map). Downtown Lisbon is also easily reachable by subway from either of these two stations (exit at either Rossio or Baixa/Chiado). If arriving by train, one should get off at Gare do Oriente (not at Santa Apolónia). From here one can take the red subway line to Alameda. Useful information can also be found on the railway station web-page. There are also two local train lines, to Cascais and to Sintra. From the EU and from the USA visas are not required. For other nationalities, we recommend contacting the local Portuguese embassy. The local currency is the EURO. |
