Cohomology of the moduli space of curves

The moduli space of curves is an object which has been studied since Riemann. After reviewing basic aspects of the geometry of moduli space, I will discuss recent progress in understanding of its cohomology.

The Mathematics Colloquium is a series of monthly talks organized by the Department of Mathematics of IST, aiming to be a forum for the presentation of mathematical ideas or ideas about Mathematics.
