Our journey with forward-backward differential equations:

This presentation will focus on our numerical investigations
relating to mixed-type functional differential equations (MTFDEs)
of the form \(x'(t)=a(t)x(t) + b(t)x(t+1) + c(t)x(t+1)\). Following
a brief introduction to MTFDEs we include a review of our progress
to date. Alongside our aim of developing new approaches to the
numerical solution of MTFDEs we are particularly interested in
using our approach in modelling applications. We will discuss some
aspects of, and issues relating to, our current investigations, and
will present examples to illustrate our numerical approach.
