Dynamical Aspects of Pseudo-Riemannian Geometry

02/03/2020 — 06/03/2020 Centro de Matemática, Campus de Gualtar, Universidade do Minho Locate in map

The meeting will focus on recent progress in Pseudo-Riemannian geometry, in particular, in Lorentzian geometry. One of the main goals is to bring together geometers and specialists in dynamical systems while promoting the exchange of ideas and exploring the intervention / interaction of dynamical systems in Pseudo-Riemannian geometry.

Deadline February 10, 2020.

Geometrias’19: Polyhedra and Beyond

05/09/2019 — 07/09/2019 Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences of Porto’s University, Portugal Locate in map

The International Conferences Geometrias are organized by the Portuguese Association of Geometry and Drawing Teachers (Aproged) that aim to bring together academics, artists, researchers, scientists and students to share their investigations and practical experiments related to the leitmotiv of each edition, that is closely connected to Geometry through a broad panorama of topics.

In 2019, Geometrias will be held in the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences of Porto’s University with the intent of fostering interdisciplinary discussions and connections between theoretical researches and practical studies on polyhedra and geometric structures and its applications in architecture, arts, computer science, crystallography, design, education, engineering, mathematics, materials science and other related fields of study, that we believe might enrich each other and renew common interests on these subjects through networks of common inspirations. In addition to the papers and posters' sessions and the six plenary lectures of notable Keynote Speakers, there will be a Session dedicated to different Workshops with hands-on activities.
We invite academics, artists, researchers, scientists and students to participate in the Call for Abstracts occurring between 15 October 2018 and 15 March 2019, submitting, through EasyChair, an extended abstract on investigations or practices addressing the conference's theme: Polyhedra and Beyond.
