@ Salão Nobre, Instituto Superior Técnico
The final session of this academic year’s science outreach initiative Explain it like I’m 5 was led by our own Hugo Tavares, professor at the Department of Mathematics and researcher at CAMGSD. In front of an enthusiastic audience of elementary school students (grades 1 to 4), the lecture explored complex concepts of geometry, equilibrium, and efficiency through hands-on experiments with soap films and geometric frames. The Department of Mathematics congratulates Professor Hugo Tavares on this outstanding contribution to scientific outreach and for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
